German Car Club Bowling Tournament

On Saturday March 5th a few members of the Houston Section gathered at the Del Mar Lanes bowling alley to win back the German Car Club Bowling trophy. The trophy had been in the possession of the BMW Car Club since 2019.

For the 2022 tournament, after all the pins knocked down were counted, MBCA Houston was declared the winner See note.

After a big celebration and lots of high fives the trophy was taken home. We will add a 2022 plaque declaring our win.

Our team started off hot from the first ball in the first frame. Rick's son, our youngest bowling team member, rolled a strike. He has about 10 more years to go before he can legally drive his parents R107. His dad Rick had a few good games also.

Another father / son duo was Erroll and Dylan. Your Houston section president and self proclaimed leader of the bowling team rolled 5 strikes in a row on the first game. He has never rolled 5 strikes in a row and most likely will never do that again. Unfortunately the 5 strikes were followed by a few open frames that caused him to just miss breaking 200. Dylan, who bowls regularly, stands on the left and throws a wicked curve ball that rides the right side gutter just before  breaking hard left into the pocket between the 1 and 3 pins. Dylan rolled several good games.

We also had good support from the other MBCA bowlers; Doug, Flavio, Jim, John, Mike and Roberto. Thanks guys. It was good to visit and catch up with everyone.

After the tournament John and Mike showed off their newest collection, a 1949 Cadillac. It was absolutely gorgeous. The car will be shown at the Keels & Wheels event on April 30th. This year the Houston section will attend the Keels & Wheels as a group. Come out to join us and support John and Mike There will be other Houston section members with their Mercedes-Benz on display.

Note; MBCA Houston won the 2022 German Car Club Bowling Tournament by default.

The BMW, Porsche and Audi clubs did not show up
