The Wichita section had a fantastic poker run.  We had six cars participate (with a 7th car joining later).  The day started out with a gathering at a local bookstore, Watermark Books and Cafe.  Participants caught up with each other, grabbed some coffee, and then received the day's route.  At this point we also drew our first card.

The first stop was the Kansas Firefighter's Museum in downtown Wichita.  The museum is housed in a old firestation which was built in 1908.  Beside all the incredibe Kansas firefighting history housed in this museum, we were also fortunate to view a special traveling display commemorating the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.  After drawing a 2nd card we then headed out west.

The section enjoyed a beautiful country drive out to the little town of Cheney.  While in Cheney we stopped at a local burger joint, Bennys.  Bennys certainly lived up to its reputation, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the burgers here.  After some more chatting and a chance to cool off, we then drew the third card.

The next stop was Lake Afton.  The state park was full of people enjoying water activities on the lake.  Our section found a quite spot to take some great group pictures and draw a fourth card.  We then proceeded to parade around the perimeter of the lake before heading back east to Wichita.

Our final stop was our favorite German restaurant, Prost!  After settling down to some nice cold German beer we then drew the fifth card.  The prizes for the day were two Mercedes related books.  Our big winners were Dave Snodgrass and Teresa Poulseen.  Special shoutout to the Poulseens who came up from Arkansas to participate in our section event.
