The Mercedes-Benz Ozark Section will be heading to Claremore, Oklahoma on Saturday, July 17, 2021, to visit the Will Rogers Memorial Museum and have lunch at the J. Farley’s Pub. We have invited the Eastern Oklahoma Section to join us. Will Rogers was America’s cowboy philosopher. He was born William Penn Adair Rogers on November 4, 1879, in a log-walled seven-room house along the Verdigris River, on an Indian reservation. This was later call Oologah, Oklahoma. The incredible museum stands on the top of the hill in Claremore, Oklahoma, in his honor. You can also drive to Oologah, Oklahoma to visit the birthplace ranch, 9501 E. 380 Road, Oologah, Oklahoma. Prior to visiting the museum, we will have lunch at the J. Farley’s Pub at 11:30 a.m. The pub was established by Chris Hayes and James Franklin, in memory of their dear friend and fire fighter, Jason Farley, who lost his life in a flood while on duty with the Claremore Fire Department. This pub has an array of great dishes to choose from. The pub has reserved a private room for our sections. After leaving the museum, and on our way home, you may want to stop in Chouteau, Oklahoma at the Amish Cheese House, on Highway 69 South, just a mile off Highway 412. They have a variety of pastries, cheeses, meats, jellies, spices, soups, kitchen items; the list goes on, and the most delicious ice cream!!
