March 27th, It's Spring!!! Drive

The drive was held in mild weather, we left M-B Huntsville heading East to Woodville, AL. Up Rt 8 to Skyline, AL Down Crow Mountain's twisty, hairpins on Rt 33. Stopping the Bellefonte Nuclear Plant that never produced any energy, the reactors had not been installed. Following the South shore of Lake Guntersville to Guntersville State Park where we ate our picnic lunches.  From there one group headed South to Gadsden and home, the other cars traveled over Green Mountain and into Huntsville.  The roads were wonderful to drive, the views spectacular, and Spring plants were cheerfully blooming.
Joining our Drive Was Gary Andrew, and son Neil, in Gary's beautiful 1966 230SL, you can read about their restoration of the 230SL in Jan-Feb 2021 STAR.  Also new member Jeremy Sharp with his beautiful 1985 300 Turbo Diesel Wagon (with +450,000 miles) joined the drive. Jim Roberts brought up the tail in his 1978 280SE (over 400,000 miles) Drive lead by Doug, Joan Bloomberg in a 2012 ML-350
